We believe that by providing young people with the right support, resources, and opportunities, they can achieve great things and make a positive impact on the world.
Always Reaching Children’s Hearts (ARCH) Foundation is a non-violence organization offering mentoring, educational tutoring, and fine arts programs to children in some of Chicago’s most underserved communities. Established on January 5, 2010, in honor of our slain family member, Artelle L. Gholar, who was senselessly murdered in Altgeld Murray Gardens on November 13, 2006, the foundation aims to turn a tragic situation into something positive and triumphant.
Unfortunately, the story of a family member lost too soon is all too familiar to many families who have suffered the loss of a loved one due to the rampant violence that plagues Chicago’s underdeveloped and economically starved South and West sides. In recent years, violence in our communities has grown at an alarming rate. Children as young as six have become the latest victims, painting a bleak and heartless future for our youth.
Natasha was born on April 28, 1982, in Altgeld Gardens, and from a young age, she discovered her purpose in community service and music. She embraced every opportunity at Grissom Elementary and Corliss High School, participating in choir and martial arts. After graduating from Jackson State University in 2005, Natasha's trumpet rang out as part of the Sonic Boom of the South marching band. Despite facing adversity, including becoming a single mother in 2003, Natasha began her teaching career in 2005. In 2010, she founded Always Reaching Children’s Hearts in honor of her late brother.
Natasha's dedication to education and service led her to earn a Master’s in Educational Leadership in 2013, propelling her into roles as a Center Director and Infant Toddler Specialist. In 2016, she expanded her skill set by becoming an ABA therapist, and in 2017, she achieved a black belt in martial arts. Her efforts were recognized when she received the 100 Black Women of Chicago Award in 2019.
In 2024, Natasha transitioned to a role in the City of Chicago’s Children’s Division, continuing her mission to uplift her community through municipal service. She also shares her expertise as a CLASS-certified trainer. Her recent achievement of earning a third-degree black belt in 2023 reflects her unwavering commitment to personal growth and empowerment.
